Today we review The Avenue Hotel in West Orange New Jersey. I stayed there for three days and made the reservations through Booking.com which got us a fabulous rate of 59 dollars a night.
But keep in mind there is no pool no kitchen and it’s a very old building that many upgrades were made but not very well. I will say the staff was friendly the beds were very comfortable. And of course, the Weed smell in the middle of the night that gave me a headache both times I smelled it. The phone in my room was from 1986 and the mold in the bathroom. So I gave this place a 3-star rating out of 10.
I just think things could have been better and the simpler things not an issue. Would I stay here again most likely not unless I could get a room on the Balcony side and a majority of the issues fixed.

Food Access : Yes there is a Dunkin Donuts and a Mcdonalds on one side and a pizzeria restaurant on the other
The building is old very old, they did a half-assed job painting and fixing up the place. but the area is not bad very good actually so you can leave your car without fear. The Turtleback ZOO and South Mountain Arena is right across the street.
I expected better for a Hotel in this area I really did, this is a High-End area of beautiful homes. you can walk around without fear and very nice people to bump into.
This Hotel need a lot of work but I got it for 59 dollars a night so considering the area this was a very very good deal.
Would I stay there again?
I don’t really know.
